Concord Prison Outreach (CPO) dates back to 1968, when its first volunteers helped in prison by making curtains for the infirmary at MCI Concord. The 70’s and 80’s saw various key milestones such as appointing an Executive Director in 1986. In 1989, the name Concord Prison Outreach was established, and in 1998, CPO became an independent non-profit corporation. We are now a coalition of faith communities and individuals committed to helping people in prison through educational programming. In 2015, CPO has 49 faith communities and countless individuals supporting and volunteering for our mission to offer compassion, education, and opportunity to those behind bars.
