Two orientations are required for all new volunteers. To find out the date of the next orientation, please click here to email us as soon as possible as space is limited. Before attending orientation, you must complete a number of administrative steps; additionally, there is the opportunity to visit a session of your program(s) of interest in prison before attending orientation.
Please visit our Program Descriptions page to learn about our current volunteer opportunities. When emailing us about your volunteer interests, please identify any specific programs that appeal to you. However, while the general volunteer days and times are listed at the bottom of the program descriptions, don’t hesitate to inquire about other available sessions. Often there is some flexibility once volunteers are oriented. The same holds true for the locations of many programs; some can be run at other facilities without much issue. Finally, if you have an idea for a program, volunteers do have the opportunity to create their own, but the process can take some time to complete. We are happy to help, so let us know if program creation is of interest to you.
